Gilling West Fly Fishers
A small private fly fishing club with a shared love of wild trout, grayling, the environment and conservation.
We are a small private fly fishing club based at Gilling West near Richmond, North Yorkshire. Our members share a love of fishing, an appreciation of the environment and a genuine interest in conservation.

Fishing Gilling Beck
We fish for trout and grayling using artificial flies with barbless hooks and operate a mandatory catch-and-release policy. Coarse fishing is not allowed.
This is small-stream fishing and generally calls for a short rod, light line and waders. Access can be challenging, particularly in summer, and successful fishing often depends on a quiet approach, careful presentation and a little patience. A short tenkara rod can also be highly effective.
